Description
The freezing of the ocean is a fascinating process. The water first becomes dense and the crushed ice gradually forms round ice floes, which eventually join together to form an ice cover under suitable conditions. This photo shows these small ice floes, still floating freely, against a backdrop of peaks illuminated by sunlight, resembling a permanent sunset at this time of year.
