The Hunter

Description

I tend to look for aesthetics and elegance in photography. I do not hide the fact that nature is full of drama, but I capture it obliquely rather than explicitly. This was the case with this beautiful cheetah I photographed shortly after a successful impala hunt. The seconds in which the elegant hunter watched his surroundings to see if there was any danger of someone stealing his prey, which was partly hidden in the grass, were more interesting to me than the dramatic moments that had preceded them. Cheetahs are not successful every time they hunt, but this individual proved his ability when he successfully hunted a young zebra a few days later.
